Audits and Driver Profiles

We understand that every business needs to understand their drivers risk from driving documents to driver skills

The use of independent audits is an important tool that businesses can use to test their systems and identify weaknesses. TFD Training aims to recognise, encourage and promote best practice within the driving sector. Operators are possibly required to demonstrate their processes if an investigation was to take place whatever the reason.

TFD Training has teamed up with our partners BCS (Business Compliance Solutions) to create bespoke audits.

Driver Audits

Our online audit programme for Occupational Road Risk management will:

  • Identify who drives for work (this includes company vehicle drivers, additional drivers and grey fleet drivers).

  • Flag up any potential risks for each driver as they work their way through the system. These appear in the form of pop-up boxes, advising the employee what action to take. There will also be an employee risk report at the end of each audit, highlighting the risks for the employee (if any).

  • Provide section or departmental risk reports to notify line managers of risks per employee (broken down into ‘stop risks’ and ‘information risks’. It also generates weekly and monthly departmental reports.

The system has the capacity to analyse and provide reports and recommends ways to minimise risks and become more compliant with road risk legislation.

Driver Profiles (In development at present).

At present TFD Training and BCS are developing a driver profile tool to help you identify which drivers are of a higher risk and may benefit from occupational road risk training.

Human error is a significant factor in road incidents, contributing to 90 - 95 per cent of all incidents. The Driver Profiler online tool is designed to identify any driver whose safety levels may put your business or themselves at risk. This assessment evaluates various factors, including personality traits, knowledge and attitude - serving as an indicator of drivers potential behaviour.

Keeping your business safe:

  • Ensure you have a copy of the current Driver Agency standards and understand exactly what you will be required to demonstrate during the audit.

  • Check that all your drivers (company vehicle and grey fleet) documentation is in date with no pending matters.

  • Check that organisational policies and certificates are valid, current, in date and where necessary – on display.

Benefits

Keeping your business compliant:

  • May reduce running costs such as motor insurance.

  • Reduce risk of prosecution by your driver complying with road traffic legislation.

  • Possible reduction in penalties if investigations go to court.
