TFD Training helps a large range drivers of who need or wish to improve their level of skill and safety when driving. This course is designed to help all, but geared for the older driver who needs assessed or their confidence built up.

We already have helped people from a range of backgrounds and driving experiences, including:

  • The older drivers - This is for those who  maybe suffer from a lack of confidence or who need reassurance that their driving is safe.

  • All drivers – This is for those who have been driving for many years and feel they have bad habits or just wish to become safer drivers.

  • Drivers returning to driving – This is for those who have taken a break from driving for whatever reason. It could have been forced, voluntary or for a long or short period of time and they need to boost their confidence or returning to work so that they can again get behind the wheel.

  • Post Collision – This is for those who maybe have lost their confidence or who are anxious following a road traffic collision or just wish to have the skills to prevent a reoccurrence.

TFD Training can also offer these courses for all drivers for whatever the reason. Our trainers are highly experienced in delivering driver training as training a full licence holder is very different from coaching a learner.

Training is taken at a location and time that suits you and we will support you before, during and after the training. You will receive a post course report outlining what was covered over the full training session and with agreed areas that you may need to work on further.

We mostly provide training in your own vehicle as most prefer training in a car they are familiar with. We can supply a car, but may be an extra expense.

Session Content

The session is bespoke to each driver’s own needs, and we focus on the following during the session:

  • Confidence building.

  • Forward planning and observation.

  • Dealing with different road types.

  • Refresher on the Highway Code content.

  • A system to deal with all hazards however big or small.

  • Developing a positive attitude to driving (What if?).

  • How to manage speed.

  • Hint and tips on how to perform manoeuvres safely.

On the day of the course, you will meet your tutor for an informal chat before the driving starts. We discuss your needs so getting a better understanding of you and how best we can help. We will focus mainly on the following during the session:

  • What you want to achieve from the training.

  • What are your main concerns.

  • How do you rate your driving.

  • What motivated you to complete this training.

The things you discuss here will form the pathway to improved driving confidence, which will be referred back to during your training.
