Young Driver Training
Continue your 'Life Skills' by increasing your driving knowledge and skills

TFD Training offers advanced or defensive driving sessions for young or newly qualified drivers. These sessions are ideal for drivers who want to improve your skills and become safer drivers as your learning has only begun when you pass your test.
These sessions are designed for:
-
Drivers with less than 12 months of driving experience or who have not driven much, (ie, been at University).
-
Drivers who are showing either too much confidence or a lack of confidence.
-
New drivers who maybe already had a near-miss or collision and want to prevent a reoccurrence.
There is a risk that you now believe you can drive but there is a lot more to this ‘Skill for Life’. Your driving licence can become a life line for social and business reasons, so why put it at risk, as believe it or not you do not actually own your driving licence. It is earned and you spent good money to do so.
Experience takes a minimum of three years and when you took the driving test you were taught to pass a test rather than the ‘Skills for Life’. Basically you are left to teach yourself and reinforce what you have learnt before the test but drivers normally pick up ‘Bad Habits’. This is where we at TFD Training can help.
Most of the people booking this session are parents who want to help their son or daughter be safer on the roads. We also offer a motorway driving session for younger drivers.
You will see huge benefits from this:
-
Possibility of cheaper insurance.
-
Better fuel economy.
-
Enjoying your driving by feeling safer.
-
Less wear and tear on your vehicle, so saving money.
Session Content
The session is bespoke to each driver’s own needs and we focus mainly on the following during the session:
-
Forward planning and observation.
-
A system to deal with all hazards however big or small.
-
Developing a positive attitude to driving, (What if?).
-
Knowing the consequences of inexperience and your actions.
-
How to manage speed.
-
How distractions can impact a driver.
-
New driving techniques such as ‘The Limit Point’ to help cornering techniques.
-
Hint and tips on how to perform manoeuvres safely.
After The Training
When each session is completed you will receive a full report outlining the areas that were covered and what improvements were made. The report will also outline areas that you would need to work on further. This report and session will be completed by a professional registered ADI (Approved Driving Instructor).
This may be used to potentially get discount from your insurance company.
